Eliminate causes of foreseeable excess consumption
A significant amount of avoidable excess energy and water
consumption arises from causes which could have been foreseen.
Examples include:
- time-controls that have failed, or have been
overridden or incorrectly set.
- burners which have been allowed to drift out of adjustment
- heat exchangers which have become fouled
Energy-wasting faults of this kind can be reduced through
staff training and by adopting
a deliberate policy of
energy-conscious maintenance, both
of which will contribute to the aim of
minimising the quantity consumed.
