Existing contract tariffs
It is not possible to check utility bills
effectively without a clear record of current contract tariffs
against which to verify them. The 'tariff' may be a simple all-inclusive
fixed price per unit, as is often quoted for gas supplies, or it may be
a complex multi-rate seasonal time of day (SToD) tariff with
transportation charged separately on its own peculiar tariff. One of
the more difficult situations to deal with is oil, whose price may vary
from one delivery to another.
